Funeral obsequies for Charles A. Lydick were held at the home last Thursday afternoon with Rev. CN McBrayer officiating. Music was furnished by a male quartet composed of Paul Emmert; Theron Banta; Myron Banta and Lee Porter who sang, It is Well With My Soul and Sweet By and By with Mrs. Theron Banta presiding at the piano. Pall bearers were Clair Wilkinson; Clarence Wilkinson; Claude Lydick; Charles Bayless and Robert McMurray, all nephews of the deceased and Damon Booher, a cousin. Interment was in Sugar Grove Cemetery near New Richmond. Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. JW Dickson of Jamestown; Mr. and Mrs. DM Stallard; Mrs. C Stallard, Mrs. Ethel Evey; WW McCord; Mrs. ER Skinner and Harry Hendricks of Lafayette; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilkinson of Edinburgh; Miss Nelle McCord of Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Robert Pearson and daughter of Indianapolis; Miss Edith Dettbenner and John Stewart of West Point; Charles Bayless; Mr. and Mrs. EF Wilkinson; Clair Wikinson of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Nelle Mason of Ladoga; Mrs. Albert Seaman; Mrs. Cecil Sandusky; Mrs. Lou Surface and Mrs. Clarence Burford of New Market and Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Wilkinson of Bloomingdale. - typed by kbz

Waveland -- Charles Andrew Lydick, 77, retired farmer died Tuesday morning at his home here. He had been ill since July with a heart ailment. Born Sept 26, 1865 near Browns Valley, the son of Robert and Rebecca Foster Lydick, pioner Montgomery County couple, Mr. Lydick was married Aug 29, 1911 to Mary E. Stallard at Lafayette. He was a prominent member of the Methodist Church and for a number of years resided in Ks and California. Surviving are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Peck; two grandchildren, Lura Ellen Peck and Sarah Louise Peck; a son-in-law, William Peck; three brothers, OM Lydic of Browns Valley; Ollie Wilkinson of Tangier and Frank Wilkinson of Parkersburg; a sister, Mrs. Lou Surface of new Market and ab rother-in-law, Edgar pitts of Waveland. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock thursday afternoon at the late residence in Waveland with burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery, NW of New Richmond. The burial will take place at 3 o'clock and short services will be held at the grave. The officiating minister will be Rev. CN McBrayer. - kbz
